The President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi, has restructured his political platform, the Sacred Union of the Nation (USN). Initially composed of 6 individuals, the presidium now consists of 40 members.
In addition to Vital Kamerhe, Jean-Pierre Bemba, Bahati Lukwebo, Augustin Kabuya, Sama Lukonde, and Christophe Mboso, 34 other political figures, including Prime Minister Judith Suminwa, have joined the presidium of this platform, which holds the majority in Parliament.
These new members mainly come from political parties that secured at least 7 deputies and senators in the last elections. Others were unilaterally appointed by Félix Tshisekedi, as indicated in a statement from the permanent secretariat of the platform on Saturday, March 8.
It is worth noting that Félix Tshisekedi remains the highest authority of the USN, while André Mbata continues to serve as the permanent secretary of this political grouping, created following the separation from the FCC group linked to former President Joseph Kabila and CASH, which supported Félix Tshisekedi’s candidacy in 2018.
