The recent torrential rains that have hit Kinshasa have created a natural disaster situation, requiring a rapid and effective response. In the face of this emergency, political and economic actor and expert Jean-Pierre Mulumba Milolo has launched a strong appeal for coordinated efforts.
A lack of lational momentum lamented
However, Jean-Pierre Mulumba Milolo regrets the lack of national momentum, which he attributes to a communication deficit on the part of political authorities and opinion leaders. According to him, this gap hinders the necessary mobilization to deal with the scale of the disaster.
Proposal for an ad Hoc committee and a solidarity fund
To address this situation, the expert proposes the creation of an ad hoc committee, specifically dedicated to managing this crisis.
This committee would be composed of the City Hall and the relevant national ministries, including the Interior, Defense, Urban Planning and Housing, and Social Affairs.
Aware of the urgency of the situation, Jean-Pierre Mulumba Milolo emphasizes that the management of this disaster cannot be ensured solely by the City Hall. He also advocates for the establishment of a solidarity fund, allowing everyone to contribute, whether in kind or in cash.
A call for general mobilization
Jean-Pierre Mulumba Milolo’s appeal
highlights the need for collective and coordinated action to help the affected populations and mitigate the consequences of this natural disaster. He emphasizes the importance of effective communication and the mobilization of all actors in order to overcome this ordeal as quickly as possible.
